2009.09.06 ITALY Tivoli w Niece Marie & Auntie Chris
Location: ITALY: Tivoli
The hill town of Tivoli is now the most popular excursion from Rome. It was once a favored resort of the ancient Romans, attracted by its fresh water, sulfur springs, and beautiful countryside. The temples that once covered Tivoli’s hilltop are still visible in places. Some are still visible in places. There is even a castle in the heart of town.
The Hotel Torre Saint Angelo was a Italian Palace until the late 1900s. The Princess of the Palace decided to convert it to a hotel. She used most of the furniture that furnished the villa for the common living areas, upgraded the bedrooms, and modernized the grounds. It is a place to stay. There is horseback riding, hiking, and the fabulous village of Tivoli to tour including the Villa Gregoriana, Hadrian’s Villa, and Villa d’Este if you want to spend more than one night.
